In order to get over impulse load , usually the blooming mill adopts wound-rotor induction motor and flywheel energy storage system with slippage adjustment device. But the energy loss of this system is very great because rotor current flows in the slip resistors. This system can be transformed as squirrel cage induction motor and dynamic reactive power compensation system. When the load torque increases suddenly, the motor can hold the max output ability via ensuring system voltage. By building up the model of flywheel slip energy storage system and emulation, this article proves the electric energy-saving effect got after transformation. Dynamic reactive compensation system (FC+TCR+TSC) with wide adjustment range and strong compensation traceability aiming at blooming mill is designed.
