The city commercial pedestrian street not merely meets the needs of social economic development of the city, and meets people's psychology and culture's needs. Whether the present construction of city commercial pedestrian street can meet the demand of social economic development and people's psychology and culture's needs becomes the study focus of project policy maker, especially planner and designer's new research subject.The text is divided into five parts mainly:First part is the definition of the subject, introduces city commercial pedestrian street design background and the meaning of post occupancy evaluation at first, define relevant concepts, sum up its research approach.Second part is the introduction of city commercial pedestrian street development and survey of research results, and it puts forward the problems exist in the city commercial pedestrian streets in our country.The third part introduces the post occupancy evaluation (POE) research approach, its concept, function, influence and the application in China.The fourth part is the survey and case study of city commercial pedestrian streets in Hunan province, expounds the aim in research and method, and apply in the investigation and research of the pedestrian streets in Changsha , Liuyang , Yiyang, and the statistical analysis of the investigations.The fifth part is the evaluation standard research, by analyzing the comments of pedestrians, it sets up evaluation standard and summarizes the experience of the application of POE method in the city commercial pedestrian streets.
