The inevitable trend for the development of SCADA systems in hydropower station is that, based on the existing SCADA technology, it merges integration, optimization, and intelligence to form intelligent hydropower station SCADA system. The advanced software introduced in this article is a integration, with intelligent tech, optimal tech, networks communication, and it also combines the existing SJK-8000 SCADA system in hydropower station, including Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Automatic Voltage Control (AVC), economic operation, etc, which are closely related to economy, stability.Firstly, this article introduced the function and characters of hydropower station in the electrical power system, and the development of SCADA system in the hydropower station. And then, analysis was made for general architecture and function configuration of SJK-8000 SCADA system in hydropower station, and on this basis, discussed the research object--the function demand, architecture configuration and implement method. The focus in this article is combining the advanced software and networks tech to explain the implement and characters of general design idea, design method and main functions for system communication, data services, system optimization, scheduling. The analysis and comparison was made among different patterns.After analyzing the function demand for advanced applied software, this article introduced the general design scheme for the economic operation advanced software in hydropower station. Via constructing message receiving and resolving process for IEC104, data communication command and store switch (gateway operation) were designed, implemented and integrated. The accessing control strategy for resources sharing in multi-task and multi-thread environment was researched in details and the implement scheme and accessing scheme for real-time sharing main-memory database, which supports component objects model tech. After the comparison among different optimization algorithm for economic operation in hydropower station, an improved dynamic programming was introduced, and it was used to make the scheduling function in AGC of hydropower station.In the end, with the conclusion for research and development of the software system, some feelings and understandings in related field and the further improvements needed were explained briefly.
