Axle is one of the most important parts of machines. It provides bases for parts which is assembled on it. It passes power and motions. The ability and working quality of a machine are mainly depended on axles. Once axle fails, serious problems may occur. So the design of axle is very important and different from the design of general machine parts. Axle design includes two contents: strengthness design and construction design. In order to assure the correct position of parts on axle and meet with the requirement of axle making and assembling, it is necessary to design the shape and construction sizes of axle correctly, that is construction design. During actual designing, strengthness design affects construction design so it is absolutely necessary to consider the relationship between strengthness design and construction design.I focused on the construction during my axle system design. Customers can use software to get familiar with the construction design and construction analization of axle; construction and function of axle and other parts on axle; the fit way of parts on axle; the types, the adjustment, lubrication, and sealing way of bearings.The essay is studying the database and software system development of axle system by applying with database technology, the technology of featuring modeling, parametric drive technology and automatic assembly technology. The essay mainly contains the following:(1).Based on the designing consideration, using Delphi 5.0, develop the designer-to-computer exchanging design system, introduce the design procedure and the mean to realize.(2). Explain in detail the general steps of axle system design. It is the best design if the axle construction design is the simplest and at the same time it can assure that the axle meet with the requirement of strengthness, rigidness and assembling and anufacturing.(3). The essay explains the basic consideration way and the aim of software design, based on the analyzation of system aims and requirement, providing the general design way. It also explains the general construction of the system and function modules with construction graphics and words and provides some procedure of software design.(4).My essay gives the basic theory and way of database design technology. Introduce in detail the character of Delphi 5 and the procedure of how to use DataBase DeskTop of Delphi 5 to create axle system construction database as well as the way of how to use Delphi 5 to build database.(5).The essay discusses the key technology of axle system designing. Introduces the main characters of parametric model building and the meaning of the terms-parametric drive principle and automatic assembying. It also discusses detaily the further development way of SolidWorks and the character of SolidWorks such as featuring modeling, parametric drive, the function of dynamic simulation, feature manager and dynamically detecting of interference between components, explains the process of controlling graphics by using SolidWorks 2004 API.(6). Finally, the essay shows the actual result of the system and how to use the system and how to carry out further research.
