Study On CAD For Information Driven Mechanical Product Design

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is the application of computer to assist the designer to design product. CAD now has two main trends: One is drawing-oriented CAD in order to fulfill design of product automatically by computer; The other is data-oriented CAD which focuses on the design information management for whole product. Drawing-oriented CAD pursues intelligent design while data-oriented CAD emphasis integration. Both are essential key issue for achieving advanced manufacturing system such as CIMS(Computer Integrated Manufacturing System).In this dissertation, through analyzing the CAD technique in the development of the machine field and existent problems, we should analyze and design mechanical products on the basis of informatics. The machine product virtually is an informational aggregation. The process that design the product is continuously substantiate, syncretism, augment the static and dynamic information of a product.On the basis of informatics and the information theory, the dissertation which analysis machinery product and its design process, put forward the model of the machine design information process for the first time by using for reference the information process pattern. It brings forward the process's information transmission model of the machinery product design for the first time, through the telecommunication transmission model. Synthesizing the models of above two kinds, we use the exchange function of human and computers. It brings forward the realistic model of the product design information for the first time. Finally we put forward the CAD concept system and system frame that face to the machine product information, which realize integrative design and data management. The main points are summarized as follows: 1. Analysis the applied general situation of CAD at machine realm, bring up toanalyzing the machine product and its design process on the basis of informaticsand information theory.2. From the information's concept, characteristic, abstract information of the machine product and its design process. Establish the information transmission model of the machine product design process, finally, give the information concept of product.3. Through the information of product, establish the information model of the machine product.4. Establish the information model by anglicizing typical model of the machine product design process.5. Put forward the CAD concept system frame that face to the machine product information. And the theory is validated basically by the CAD design system of vertical vibration mill.
