Research For The ITS On Public Transit

The preferential development of urban public transit will be propitious to solve the congestion of city traffic and improve the quality of environment. ITS is a comprehensive usage of communication technology, computer technology, data-base technology and management. Based on the situation of China and the shortcoming of urban transit system, such as the bus, the bus routine, the tradition plan method and the operation, this paper render the ITS framework of public transit and how to implement the ITS in transit system step by step according to the analysis of the framework of national and America ITS. The article discusses the service needs, logistical and physical framework of transit in detail. It also gives the sub-system of ITS framework.It is concluded that an effective way to ultimate the potential energy of transit system is to use GIS, GPS and GSM simultaneously. It gives the structure of 3G transit system and how to use GIS software MapInfo to evaluate the transit system.
