Nowadays there is an increasing construction of university campus in ourcountry. With the growth of higher education itself, however, the development whichis emphasizing on quantity when constructing, must be substituted by the tendency ofimproving quality in the future. Therefore in order to enhance spacial value, it is ofgreat importance to study on the morpha of building cluster. The paper mainly study the building clusters which were built in new universitycampuses in China since 1980's . On one hand, the achievements in this 20 years canbe obviously seen. Higher building standard, increasingly significant public openspace, more complicated contents, the variety of spacial composition, all these led thegreat changes which have taken place in the morpha of building cluster. But, on theother hand, the problems exsiting in it can't be neglected. Altough it is unavoidablefor architectural group to augment its spacial size, the excessive effort on form haveresulted in such situation. Space lacks of arrangement and it's hard for people to feelit, say nothing of to control it. Besides, the sharp compression of construction cycleand the deficiency of design time, make architects have little time to deeply considerdetails in company with primary relationship, ulteriorly confine them to creatparticular temperament for it. Accordingly, scarcity of organic character anddisappearance of cultural spirit are the doubtless facts in many new universitycampuses. Facing to such situation, the paper brings forward an ideal form forbuilding cluster. Furthermore, it gives the suggestion that how architects and othersocial strength to make their efforts. The paper consists of five chapters, which are arranged in the order of analyzingactuality, putting forward the main questions and answering them. In the first place,the paper discusses the characteristic meaning in the morpha of building cluster,whichstands in university campus. Then its development and transformation are analyzed,moreover the elements which have effected on them are revealed. Finally the papernarrates the urgent problems which should be solved and gives a clear answer to them.The primary contents are as follows: -Ⅱ-英文摘要 Chapter 1 is an introduction of the whole paper. It explains the theme andintroduces something important to the study, such as the origin, the background, themeaning, the theoretical basis and the main frame. Chapter 2 describes the two important characteristic connotation. Among theabundant connotation of morpha, conformity and meaningful expression are the mostcrucial points. Consequently, the study of morpha is founded on these basements. The 3rd chapter reviews the development and transformation of building clusterin new university campuses in China since 1980's. Having researched 11 campuseson the spot and collected relative information in other ways, the paper sums up themain aspects of them. The 4th chapter is concentrating on the effective elements which influences onmorpha of building cluster. On the base of pointing out the status in quo, what's moreimportant, is to find the reasons why such situation has came into being. In the 5th chapter, the paper summarizes the problems exsiting in the buildingcluster of today's campus. Aiming at all of them, the ideal morpha is given, furthermore the duty of architects and other social strength is seriously proclaimed. It's theultimate conclusion of the paper.
