Research And Development Of MES In Small And Medium Enterprises Of Electronic Appliances

With the competition in the market of electric appliances, customers have higherrequirements to the products that enterprises produced. It is very useful to researchand develop a new production management system, which can increase productivity,reduce lead time , improve the ability of adaptation and competition. After analysis of the history of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), thepaper first describes the information module and functional module and the actualstatus and tendency of the research of MES. Then introduces the shop floormanagement and analyses the utility in the production management after giving abrief introduction of the production management in enterprises. After analysis of theproduction characteristics and production management in medium and smallenterprises of electronic appliances, the paper presents an architecture of the extendedMES (EMES). The paper then analyses the functions of the extended MES and itsimplementation methodology including the method of the plan drawing up based onMRP â…¡, the selecting method of the BOM structures. Setting up the rules ofoperational scheduling, operational control in the shop floor, data collection with thetechnique of bar code, operational quality inspection, functions and problems ofinventory management and the improved methods. The paper then describes the EMES design including the information resourceplanning methodology, requirement analysis method, and functional architecture. AEMES functional architecture is built up based on the above analysis. The systemhardware is configured and the coding rules of the bar code are designed. Finally, thepaper indicates the EMES prototype system developed by the author and theapplication in one enterprise of electric appliances making with the inventorymanagement module of this system. The application result proven that the system iseffective and efficient.
