The modeling and control of water ballast system, bilge water system and anti-rolling tanks are systemically investigated. The simulation sub-systems for water ballast and bilge water system of marine engine room simulator are developed in the thesis. The main parts of the paper are included: (1) theorizing water ballast system, bilge water system for a container ship, simulation study results based MATLAB are given; (2) developing of the interfaces and the controllable dialog boxes of above two systems; (3) The study for automatic control system and simulation of anti-rolling tanks based the heeling tanks are completed.To establish suitable mathematical models of ship's water ballast system, bilge water system and anti-rolling tanks are the foundation for control and simulation for these systems. Based on the actual data of 5446 TEU container ship, the pipeline model, heeling pump model, adjustive valve model, digital valve model, pipeline node model, heeling tanks model, ship heeling angle model of the ballast system and bilge separator model, bilge alarm model, oil concentration detector model, bilge pump model, bilge tank model, bilge well mode of the bilge system are established. The PI controller for adjustive valve controlled plant is investigated in detail and the simulation result curve indicates that PI controller are effective. The pipeline model, pump model and pipeline node model are established base on the hydrodynamics and the simulation results also prove that the modeling and control adopted is feasible. The computing data based simulating model fit trial voyage results. The motion equations, control method and the simulation of anti-rolling tanks are investigated based on the heeling control.The controllable simulation interfaces of the water ballast system and the bilge water system are finished with VC++ 6.0. The simulation models and the operation interfaces are connected by network communication and the man-machine interaction interfaces are friendly. Via these interfaces, the running state of the systems can be made out directly and can do some operations similar to actual ship, such as open and close valve, start and stop pump and so on. All these are favourable and convenient fortraining marine engineers. These interfaces have been a part of marine engine room simulator DMS-2002 which is already used in formal teaching and training.
