This subject stems from " Research of automobile power steering pump with energy-efficient and low noise ", which is scientific and technological brainstorm project of the Scientific and Technological Office of Dalian. In this paper, the author adopts the following methods to reduce the noise of the automobile power steering pump (APSP) by studying the APSP produced home and abroad and at the same time, analyzing the different reasons of their noise from the stator transition curve, flow control valve, baffle and noise-separating. These methods are: (1) Optimizing the stator transition curve;(2) Changing the clearance between the pump body and the stator transition curve; (3) Opening a throttle on the export of control valve; (4) Cutting off the margin of the port plate (5) Putting the pump into oil tank. This thesis has analyzed the impact of stator curve on vibration and noise of the steering pump, and the requisition for stator curve of performance of the vane pump, and put out a no concussion and low noise stator curve. The control valve's frequently opening and closing is the main reason that cause out put pulsation of rate of flow. Because the control valve not only controls steering pump output flow value but also restricts outside the supreme pressure. Its output flow presents downward trend at a high speed through structural design. With the changes of the rotational speed and load, this valve moves frequently. To reduce the noise of the control valve, a throttle is set on the export of control valve to make it opening and closing not so frequently. In addition, in order to separate the noise, the author puts the pump into oil tank, which can block the spread of the noise effectively.
