The subject of this dissertation is on the modeling, simulation and design evaluation of the two-axis-position system for the satellite antenna. It makes some conclusions on the evaluation of the design of the two-axis position structure system which is significant to improve the system performance. At present, the result will be applied to the Ka band point-bean antenna of the new type satellite.First, the dissertation introduces the exploitation background, technical approach and design scheme of the research project. Then, the 3D model of the the two-axis-position system is developed using Pro/Engineer 2000. After the verification of the system assembly, the 3D model is translated into the primary virtual prototype of the system by ADAMS V12. In ADAMS/IDE, the complex restrictions are appended to the primary virtual prototype to build a refined virtual prototype that can be used in subsequent simulation.In order to validate the virtual prototype, the mathematic models of the system components such as the two-axis structure, stepping motor and harmonic reducer are introduced. The model of space disturbance moment of the system is also presented. By the integration of the above models, the mathematic model of the system is made and the Matlab/Simulink program is developed. Then, the two-axis structure dynamic sub-model of the mathematic system model is replaced with the virtual prototype to build a combined system model. Through the analysis on the simulation results of the mathematic model and the combined model of the system, the virtual prototype of the the two-axis-position structure system is validated.The validated virtual prototype is used to analyze the control characteristics of the the two-axes-position structure system. Through the simulation based on the combined system model described in above paragraph, the discussion on the control stability is present.The validated virtual prototype is also used in the evaluation about the design of the two-axes-position structure system. The effect of the holding torque of the stepping motor on the bearing is discussed, and the advice about how to optimize the design of bearing and stepping motor is present.The concept and method of "conbined simulation model" and "conbined simulation" is new to us. The dissertation also introduces a practical combined model method to validate the virtual prototype. In order to support this method, a develop environment which can integrate multi-platform such as Pro/E, Adams, Matlab is needed. It is of innovation. This kind ofenvironment will be a developing direction of the next generation CAD/CAM software.
