The number of reservoir dams built in China is about 85 000. Because of many reasons, about forty percent of the reservoir dams are deficient, which exist at large risk and with potential engineering problems. It is necessarily basic work for reservoir dam safety management and diseased reservoirs reinforcement to assess engineering geological condition and establish Dam Engineering Geological Database.In this thesis, firstly, assessment of dam engineering geological condition which consists of regional stability, reservoir engineering geological, hinge region engineering geological and crude structural material is expatiated generally. In the four aspects, assessment of hinge region engineering is the most important.Secondly, on the basis of Dam Safety Management Information System, data in Dam Engineering Geological Database are designed and realized, and could be modified, queried, deleted, added, saved and printed. This database is realized on the base of Windows operating system. Its support software is Microsoft Access in series of Microsoft Office.Finally, Dam Engineering Geological Database is applied in the Xinjiang Wuluwati reservoir dam project and Yixing pumped storage power plant project and proved to meet the need of dam safety management.After the database improves on this base, it can be served in Dam Safety Management Information System and promote civil economy and social development.
