These years, geographic information system has been applied in plenty of researches and application domains for it's notable feature of intercross in many subjects and it' s power in dealing with spatial data, which Especially has developed in water resources layout and exploitation so far. But many of these are limited to the level of data management and query.With the coming out of spatial decision support, more and more scholars have realized that the intergration between spatial decision support and water resources layout can assist and guide decision , and can service government more straightly.This paper has been supported by a program cooperated by Ocean University of China and Institute of Geographical Science and Natural Resources Research. The paper comprises the research about the integration technology of water resources layout and spatial support system .The research bases on digital elevation model and fundamental relief map. In virtue of the spatial analytic tools in ARCGIS, and making use of COM technology, together with spatial decision support modal, the paper gives way to solve these problems, such as automatical division of watershed, select optimized place for reserviors, calculate area and collection of uperiver catchment basin and so on. Up to now, these production have been applied into practice and given high prise.
