| With the development of large capacity and high parameters, the level ofelectric automation is increasingly emphasized in power plants. However, the levelof electric automation is still lower due to the traditional reasons. According to theactual condition, this article points out its shortage and proposes a new electricautomation control system in power plant based on layered control. This system isbased on intelligent devices, field bus technology and network communicationtechnology, which realizes monitoring and controlling the whole electric system ofthe power plant. The function and arrangement of these devices and technologies isdiscussed respectively, and the principle of fault determination in relay protectiondevices is also been researched. This system has been used in the third phase ofDalate Power Plant(2*330MW) successfully.
