At present, electric energy quality is more and more widely concerned by power supplydepartments and power consumers due to such causes as the change of load architecture,wider use of electric facilities sensitive to electric energy quality and the development ofelectric market , etc. In order to meet this demand, it is necessary for distribution departmentsto monitor and control electric energy quality. The best sites for monitoring and controlling,as for distribution systems, are transformer substations. The job of this paper is mainly aboutthe analysis and research of subjects like definition of indices for electric energy quality andharmonic analysis of transformer substations. According to the state-drafted norms andindices, on-line monitoring devices are utilized to statistically analysis data and judgeharmonics in transformer substations, for the purpose of providing efficient evidences forimprovement of electric harmonics. With the co-operation of BaYan Nao'Er Power SupplyBureau, a correspondent software for analyzing causes of harmonics in transformersubstations was developed, realized the creation of the reports on causes of excessiveharmonics in transformer substations and the effects of capacitor harmonics, and finally wasapplied to an instance in one of transform substations in BaYan Nao'Er.
