Hydraudynamic transmission is a kind of normally adopted transmission type used on the construction machineries. This paper give a theoretically in-depth analysis on the characteristics of the hydraudynamic torque converters mostly adopted on the construction machineries and the characteristics of the torque converter working together with the engine. Based on the theoretical analysis on the relationship between the torque and the flow of the torque converter, the paper builds a simplified mathematic model for the single-stage single-phase torque converters, which can display the converter torque characteristics with the very simple quadratic equations, whereas to derivate the mathematic expressions for the output characteristics, original characteristics and input characteristics of the torque converter. The paper also builds the mathematic models for the core-type single-stage dual-phase torque converter and the double-turbine torque converter, while derivating their mathematic equations. By building a mathematic model for the engine torque characteristic, the paper gives the formulas of the matching calculation for the torque converter working together with the engine. On the basis of simulating the original characteristics of the torque converters that the construction machinery physically adopted, and the matching calculation for the torque converter with the engine, the paper verifies the mathematic model of the torque converters.
