The Rubber-tyred pavement roller could be adjusted automatically according to actual construction conditions and requirements to ensure the best running state and high quality. So wheel roller becomes a very important branch of roller products. With the development of the science and technology and the construction requirements, the intelligence of roller has become a development trend. So the development of intelligent Rubber-tyred pavement roller was put on schedule. Under such a situation, the problem of this paper is posed as one of the key techniques in intelligent Rubber-tyred pavement roller to design the control system for the YL25Z-type roller.First, this paper uses the ripe domestic and foreign experience in intelligent pavement roller for reference and presents the overall plan of the control system according to the design requirements of the intelligent Rubber-tyred pavement roller. Contraposing the working environment with great difference in temperature, strong vibration and heavy mud, the control system in this plan based on CAN bus is constructed by EPEC 3G modules, including two EPEC2023 controllers and one EPEC2025 displayer. Then, the paper analyses the hardware features and gives the detail scheme of the tyre pressure control system and the model selection of gas control components. Finally, the software design is provided for controllers and displayer, including tyre pressure control system, real-time display of running status and intelligent fault diagnosis. In addition, the analog simulation is performed for real-time display of running status and intelligent fault diagnosis on PC.What is studied in this paper could be used for reference to design intelligent pavement roller and other engineering machinery or vehicles with similar intelligent requirements.
