FMS is an automatic manufacture system with high technology and the rich risk of investment. The development of the control system of FMS is project with a complex technology, long periodic and high cost because of its complexity. In order to meet with the demand of market, the development of a reconfigure FMS control software is very useful in practice.The paper mainly contains that how to design and develop the FMS control system with the theories of configuration software and OPC technology, then to set up the model for the control system of FMS.The FMS control system is divided into the following three basic function modules. The first is the interface of software and hardware which is based on OPC technology, its function is building the communication between the devices and the function components; the second is the control module which corresponds with all of the function components according to the task and process; the third is FMS configurable components module, it can provides not only the friendly operation environment but also the configurable operation interface in line with the layout of devices on the workshop. On this basis, a prototype system is developed, by which the control system of the flexible manufacturing system is constructed for the teaching FMS system in the CIMS center of college.At last, this paper summarizes the research work and raises some constructive suggestions for future research.
