The Research On China's Architectural Ideological Trend Of The Period From 1949 To 1959

On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China was established. The Chinese history was into a new period. On the one hand, China has ended the invade of the foreign colonizer which begun from the Opium War in1840, got independence. Chinese society entered the new democracy society; On the other hand, China joined the socialist camp leaded by the Soviet Union, the ideology is deeply affected by the Soviet Union.In 1949-1959, the newborn republic faced the survival challenge which initiated after the Korean War; joined the socialism camp and faced blockade of the western nations at the same time; The home has carried on the socialist transformation, changed the national social stratum condition and the economic system; through counter- right movement and so on changed public's thought space; by the economic planning attempt the national economy realization surmounting -like development, met the difficult economic structure unbalanced. China's architectural ideological trend development must adapts the change of society , which caused the modernism, Historical principle, Localism performance and affected in the period.At that time, the Chinese architects had studied abroad, or had the education which influenced by Europe and America idea. Most of them were influenced by modernism deeply. Under the free environment in 1949-1952, architect's individual idea had a short show. With the political change, architect's creation condition was restricted. Soon after, Chinese architects was controlled by politics and the economical restriction, its creation tendency appeared the whole repeatable swing, even achieves the unable to agree situation. In the ideology individual ideal and national demand was conflicted.Regarding change of this time, this article has introduced the modernized historical background, we try to understand the society change from the macroscopic angle. Meanwhile from the Chinese architecture modern reforming angle, we try to understood the status of this time in Chinese architecture modernize development And from the Chinese modernization advancement angle, we try to understood the ideological trend appearance and the conflict between architect individualism and nationalism in modernized process. We hope can find some beneficial model for china's architecture from the understanding of architecture trend change during the period.
