With the improvement of the urbanization and the motorization level, the traffic problems in the cities become more and more serious. As an effective means to solve the traffic problems in the cities, urban traffic planning concentrates on the traffic demands prediction. Thus, it is necessary to prolong the analysis and study of the city traffic demands predication.Among the analysis methods of the urban traffic demands at present, the most prevailing one is the four-stage analyses, which are composed of trip generation/attraction, trip distribution, trip modal split and trip assignment. The city land use, as the foundation of the urban traffic demands, plays a rather vital role to influence the resident's trip generation/attraction and distribution. Therefore, the main aim of this thesis is to study the relationship between the land use and the resident's trip generation/attraction and distribution, and set up the responsible quantity relation models.Firstly, this thesis analyses the interactive functional theory between the urban land use and the urban traffic, and also the mutual influential factors between the land use and the urban traffic, so that the mutual relation between the urban land use and the urban traffic demands is made more clearly and a solid foundation to the study of the core contents of this thesis is set; secondly, it analyses the influential factors of the resident's trip formation; meanwhile, it also analyses and points out the applied conditions of the common methods of the trip formation predication. On the basis of this, the functional relation of the urban land use to the resident's trip formation is analyzed, the urban resident's trip formation predication thread is put forward in terms of the land use and the resident's trip formation predication model is built based on the land use; thirdly, it analyses the features of the common trip distribution prediction methods and points out the applied conditions that suit to different situations. On the basis of this, nature, intensity and layout of the urban land use is analyzed to the influence of the urban resident' s trip distribution; in terms of the land use, the thread...
