With the rapid development of the Electric Power Industry in our country, as a tool to make the power system work safely and improves the quality of power energy, the microcomputer protector is becoming more and more important. The exploration and application of microprocessor protector has a great active significance to ensure the safety operation of electric network.Considering the demands for present microcomputer protector to improve its performance, a design of microcomputer protector based on ARM and embedded systems is presented. The control unit is PHILIPS LPC2292. Through power supply circuit, switch circuit, communication circuit, man-machine interface circuit and the applied procedure built-in the operate system, to realize telemetry, remote signaling, remote controlling, alarming, showing and communication. Make sure the types of each hardware according to the technique request of microcomputer protector device, introducing various calculate way, putting forward calculate way that suit for this device, completed the design related soft and hardware, give the flow chart of procedure, carry on the dependable design. A new software design method is pointed out according to the actual status of digital relay protection. The method describes the essential idea of the Graph control arithmetic Configuration, adopting the technology of object-orientation. A powerful graphical user interface software platform is also designed, on which all protection code can be automatically generated. The information of code scheme is downloaded to protection equipment for implementing the protection function.The main contents of this text are divided into five parts. The first part carries on the brief outline to the microcomputer protector, And the main work of the paper is also given. The second part elaborates the designing platform of the protector. The third part is algorithm of microcomputer protector, discussing various algorithm, putting forward an algorithm that suit for this device. The fourth part describes embedded system, carrying on a software design.
