Study On The Outdoor Leisure Space For Old People In Inhabited Regions

Nowadays, the structure of the world population is changing with the development of economy and technology. The aging of population is becoming a more and more serious problem and China has also joined the countries with aging population. It is an emergent social problem to make the old people to live a healthy and happy life in their old age.In this paper, Wuhan is the research region and the old people are the research object. By analyzing the collected data of the outdoor leisure space for old people all over the world, the effect of gardening design on the lives of old people is generalized. Some typical inhabited regions are investigated with questionnaire, photographing and visitation. By analyzing and investigating the breathing space, the rest space, the walking space and the reforest space, the shortages are also putted forward. The means of designing the outdoor leisure space is summarized for fitting the modern requirement for normal residents and also for the attention to old people. Some new ideas of designing the outdoors leisure space for old people are given in this paper and it could be the reference for other means of gardening design.
