A Study About The Planning And Design Of Sign System In Urban Pedestrian System

With the economy speeding up, social communication and living culture can't go on without information transmission. It is more important to communicate information, in order to improve the comfort and convenience of environment, it's more important to establish the urban environmental information system. As the information transmission media, the service of urban sign system make the living more convenient and the communication more advantageous. The thesis mainly studies the urban sign in urban pedestrian system.Firstly the thesis studies the urban sign system. Urban signs are important elements of city culture system. People's living can't go on without signs from ancient when signs for looking for direction to now the signal environments. Some theories are applied for the planning and design of urban signs, especially for the urban design and public environment theories.Then discussed the sign system of urban pedestrian system including contents, design principles, elements and design methods the four aspects. The contents are urban sign system elements, mainly including location, direction, information, regulation and business signs. The design principles are the guideline of urban sign system planning, containing integral, systematic, cultural, local, functional and operational the six principles. Through the above analyzing and combining the physical elements and plane elements systems, the thesis deeply explored the sign system design approach of the urban pedestrian system, comprising structure, form, scale, material, word, layout, color and signs the eight aspects.Finished the analyzing of sign system design of urban pedestrian system, in order to actively instructing the practice, the thesis finally studied the sign design of urban pedestrian system from urban traffic environments, urban business environments, invalids and montanic city pedestrian spaces the four aspects.
