With focus on hard-bearing rigid rotor, various reasons and dangers caused by unbalanced rotors were analyzed according to information and experiments. Appropriate balancing methods for different types of unbalancing rotors were discussed. In order to meet the requirement of computerized on-the-spot balancing, a measuring system consisted of separated data acquisition system and data processing system was developed. Slave based on MSP430 was used as data acquisition system. Host based on desktop or notebook PC was used as digital signal processing and data processing system. USB was used to transfer data. Multiply operation was used for same-frequency filtering. The unbalancing value was resolved with influence coefficient method. Latest hardware and ripe software was used in order to realize high precision, easy-to-operate and low cost system. The unbalancing value is showed steadily on VGA screen and easily gotten. The result can also be saved or printed to file.
