With the development of distribution automation system, as a tool to make the power system work safely and improves the quality of power energy, the microcomputer protector is becoming more and more important. With the expansion of the power system and the consumer raising higher requirement for quality of power energy, the protection relay must be improved greatly to fulfill the higher requirement.Considering the demands for present microcomputer protector to improve its performance, a design of microcomputer protector based on ARM and embedded systems is presented. With the control unit is Samsung Co.'s S3C44B0X, to build a hardware plateform, and through remote messuring circuit, remote signaling circuit, remote controlling circuit, communication circuit, man-machine interface circuit, and application program developed on embedded operation system, to realize telemetry, remote signaling, remote controlling, alarming, showing and communication. In this thesis, the design of software, hardware and flow charts are accomplished, as well as the design of reliability. In the end of this thesis, we get the conclusion by experiment that the protector satisfied each term of indices. Corresponding introduces about ARM, embedded system and its transplant is also given in this thesis.The paper's main content can be deivided into eight parts.
