The automobile-driving simulator is a most efficiently training instrument which not only can be able to advance drivers'training level,but also can scale different kinds of outlay mostly ,so it has great society and economic significance to develop automobile-driving simulator .Virtual Reality is a kind of advanced computer graphic interface technology, which is one of most hot research fields of computer science technology. The design of Scene Simulation System is very complex, among which the building of 3D-Scene is even a hard point .Recently Virtual Reality technology is being applied gradually into various fields in our life. In this paper when virtual reality technology is applied to automobile- driving simulator to produce scene, acoustics and sport emulation, the operators will immerse in the virtual environment of driving, as if driving a real car. By the virtual vision, bearing, touch feeling obtained in the driving environment, users can conceive driving actions, experience and study how to drive in the real world. Obviously, it has lots of advantages, which are low-costs, safety, effect for time, climate, field, and effective and the training period decrease, and so on.This paper combine with the project of'Large-scale special type vehicle driving simulation system'according to the concept of virtual simulation, based on the practical needs in the driving simulation system ,this paper mainly focus on the research and design of the scene simulation system .The scene simulation system is developed upon the vc++6.0 platform using OpenGVS OpenGL software and 3D-model building tool Creator. The designed driving simulator is a kind of vehicle simulate device that make the participant have the actual experience and also can simulate the actual steering state of automobile and the road's environment. This paper mainly complete the following work: (1) Discussed the history and the actuality of the automobile-driving simulator .After analyzed the present system's problems such as the scene is single and the dynamics model of the automobile is simple and can't reflect the driver's real feeling ,we introduced the buildup ,principle ,and the characteristic of the simulator developed in this paper .(2) Introduced the application of 3D-model building technology of Creator. During the progress of building up the 3D-model we used the texture mapping technology, mounting DOF node technology, setting LOD node technology and so on, improved the reality and the Immersion of the driver.(3) Considering the speed of the simulation system, we shorten the dynamic model of vehicle .Based on the knowledge of vehicle system dynamics, we build the 3-DOF manipulate dynamic model, steering model, kinematics model.(4) Improve the visual simulation fidelity to the requirements for the establishment of an automobile driving simulation process simulation in the rain, snow phenomenon of particle system. Through rain, snow appropriate to simplify the physical model, the system can ensure real-time on the premise that while achieving a higher fidelity. Users can control the parameters of the system in different sizes scene realize that the speed of different rainfall, snowfall simulation.(5) The experimental results certified the feasibility of the entire system.The purpose of this paper is to develop a body with a sense of the shape and can simulate actual road vehicle traffic simulator environment. The device is / cars / environment of a system based on test equipment can be used in the driver's driving characteristics, performance of the vehicle itself (eg : Stability, security, etc.), all kinds of road infrastructure and environmental assessment studies, but also for pilot training, driving skills assessment and safety education.
