In the engineering construction, crane operation has a pivotal role. With the mechanization level is unceasing enhancement for construction, the requirement of security of crane is more and more high. On crawler crane for stability analysis, can ensure the safety of hoisting task and reduce hoisting accidents.When crawler crane works, while lifting heavy suddenly, braking for lifting or turning, crane structure will produce dynamic overturning by impact load, which making tipping accident caused by insufficient stability. The traditional crane static stability research has displayed it’s defects in the dynamics field as large-tonnage development of crawler crane. Therefore, through dynamics theory and analysis method for crawler crane dynamic stability study is very necessary and has important practical significance.Based on the virtual prototype technology to YTQU160as research object, this paper conducts the dynamic modeling and simulation analysis. The main research is studying system’s vibration rule caused by crane hoisting suddenly, braking for lifting or turning, weighs suddenly unload and based on this vibration rule to study crawler crane’s stability. The paper obtain the dynamic response, lifting wire rope tension, and vibration displacement rule which gets from the point of contact with the ground and caterpillar band.This paper uses ADAMS, PRO/E jointed modeling method to establish boom and other rigid bodies for crawler crane dynamic modeling. Use the method of bushing force to establish the wire rope model. Conduct dynamic simulation to the constructed model with the function of ADAMS/View.By conducting the tipping stability simulation for crawler crane, can visually get concrete manifestation and characteristics of the stability of crawler crane which works normal and unload suddenly. And this can provide necessary reference for the crawler crane stability or new machine design.
