With the rapid progress of urbanization, urban population and areas incease rapidly, meanwhile the conflict between urban traffic supply and demand is increasing steadily. It is critical for conventional bus transport pattern to meet the increasing number of passenger transport demand of modern city, which is also applied to private cars pattern. Therefore, many megalopolises turn to urban rail transport as a sustainable development strategy to solve urban traffic problems, and plan to build integrated urban traffic systems with urban rail as pivots. Planning & Construction of urban rail transport has already entered its peak period. However, the high construction cost is the point to restrict the development of urban rail transport, which also faces low profit problem in its public welfare operation. Therefore, high construction costs and difficult operation payoff are the two main problems for urban rail transport development. Urban rail transport and land use is a complex interactive system, which could be coordinated developed basing on integrated plan. Beginning from planning aspect, construction costs and operating pressure can be lessened; urban rail transport will gradually achieve the profitable goal. In conclusion, research on coordinating development of urban rail transport and land use is full of crucial practical values.This thesis firstly discussed the interactive relationship between urban rail transport network and urban space structure using a macro-view, and pointed out the major role urban rail transport plays in urban development and urbanization process.Secondly, through a thorough analysis of the interactive relationship between urban rail transport and urban land use along the line from a middle-view, the thesis developed a urban rail transport influence scope theory model based on generalized traffic costs, which reflected the interactive relationship.Taking Beijing urban rail transport network planning as a model, this thesis analyzed the interactive relationship between Beijing urban space structure and Beijing urban rail transport network planning; using Beijing Subway Line 13 as an example, this thesis discussed the interactive relationship between urban rail transport and urban land use along the line, and calculated the theoretical value of urban rail transport development influence scope; through a comparison with real influence scope of Subway Line 13, the thesis finally gave recommendations on coordinating development of urban rail transport and urban...
