The Study Of Relevant Relationship Between Urban Transport Efficiency And Land-Use

As the most common and basic transportation environment in people's daily life, the urbantransportation is an important part of the transportation system. With the acceleration ofeconomic development and urbanization process, urban transportation has developed rapidly. Butwith the increase of motor vehicles, lots of new urban transportation problems have alsoappeared, such as the decreasing of vehicle speed, the deteriorating of traiffc congestion, theescalating of fuel consumption and the growing of the urban environmental pollution,whichlargely influences the eiffciency of urban transportation. Therefore, it is necessary to study theissue of efficiency of urban transportation system to meet the most traffic demand with theminimal resource consumption and least environmental pollution. Based on the factors oftransportation efficiency and the previous studies, it was proposed that the urban transportationdevelopment must be coordinated to the urban land utilization to achieve the sustainable urbandevelopment. The main study contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:As the study stairng point, the basic theoretical research and the indicators of urbantransportation efficiency and land use (urban transportation structure, transportation inrfastructure,transport modes, land utilization intensity, land utilization structure and environmental) wereanalyzed. The current status, problems and developing trend of China's urban transportation andland utilization were elaborated, and the inherent relationship between the urban transportationeiffciency and land utilization was analyzed, and then, the evaluation system to relfect thecoordinated development degree of transportation eiffciency and the land utilization wasestablished according to the actual situation, and the suitable method (i.e. the combination ofanalytic hierarchy process and generalized function method)was selected to evaluate the indicatorsystem.Finally,the above evaluation system was used to evaluate the coordination degree oftransportation eiffciency and land utilization in Nanjing. Based on the argument of coordinationproblems between transportation efficiency and land utilization in Nanjing, the suggestions aboutthe harmonious development between the transportation eiffciency and land utilization wereproposed combining with the similar problems in major cities. It hopes that the study in thispaper is useifil to the theory study and policies making.
