As studies and practices abroad show, there is close relation between urban land use and public traffic plan. Therefore, their relationship is always a Hotpoint of city plan research. At home, however, researchers used to be not interested in this point. Just in recent years, studies connecting these two aspects have begun to appear. In this paper, the writer tries to offer a practicable land use model on the basis of ~he co-relationship between land use and public traffic plan. Obviously, analysis on their co-relationship is the first thing to do. In order to confirm the practicability of this model, cases from the city plan of Tianjin are cited. Other possible models are also mentioned during the discussion of these cases. The conclusion of this study is that land use and public traffic plan should be coordinated and the construction of a traffic-plan-oriented land use model is the right way out of the present predicament of traffic problems. The writer of this paper hopes his study can be helpful to the policy making for urban land use and public traffic plan. He also hopes his study can offer some theoretical background for the development of urban public traffic.
