The article concludes three representative commercial center models through studies on many community commercial centers in the newly-built large residential areas in Shanghai Pudong Jinqiao district since 1999, when China residential industry started prospering. Due to their different commercial service contents, spatial forms and diversified consumer bodies of extensive ages, income levels & consuming habits, the three models own quite distinct architecture effects and commercial assets.The article comprehensively introduces the three typical commercial centers from theoretical to practical phase based on detailed investigation and researches, with the relationship between consuming psychology and consuming behavior as background, and three cases in Shanghai Jinqiao district as examples. Emphases are put on the prophase orientation of commercial operation, conformation conception and subsidiary characteristics of commercial architecture on the three models, with a conclusion on their adaptabilities and development trends.
