With the development of computer application in the integrated automation domain of the power monitor system abroad, the request for power production and Monitor control system is higher and higher, so the system is developing rapidly. The method of configuration has being used in it. Monitor configuration software is an automation software that face to the locale, the target is that reducing develop or update works. The users need doing little programming again while only doing some given configuration scheme to arrive the requirement.Based on the research to the popular monitor configuration software home and abroad and combined to the monitor system of substation, the article introduced the design environment and tools, analysis the whole framework and key technology of software. We have developed a suit of configuration software which realizing all the basic functions through the design work. The developing process of the whole software use the oriented-object programming way, so it has the characteristic of modularization and the data-structure of logical and has more universal property. The article has abstracted the drawing element of the graph in view of the graph configuration edition environment, used the OOP to design a suit of drawing-element class, and given the explanation of the base-class; then analyzed and designed the database configuration; used the graph method to design and realization the report-form configuration. Finally, the article choose one kind of communication way and produced the protocol form which the system used.In the end, the research and development of configuration software has been summarized, and several flaws and important issues need to be researched in future have been put forward in this dissertation.
