A Study On Jiangnan Classical Landscape Details

The quality of the work of landscape design depends not only on the whole, but also the details, which usually can result in more perfectness. In terms of the appreciation of classical landscape design, it is usually suggested in ways of design, architect, symbol and etc. However, we always forget to regard the details as dispensable parts of itself as a whole when appreciating. Although there are a lot of books on the Chinese landscape design, they mainly focus on the design and architect. Books on the details of landscape design are hardly seen. Thus, comprehension of cultures hiding in these details is of great importance. The Jiangnan classical landscape designs are mainly located in Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Yangzhou. Suzhou and Yangzhou are the representatives of all these. This dissertation selects details of classical landscape design as a special perspective, which mainly analyses the present Jiangnan classical landscape design through taking abundant amount of pictures. Then carefully comprehend and explain in ways of culture. The dissertation not only analyses in a systematically way in order to understand the profound meaning in terms of arts and design, but also attempts to appreciate Jiangnan classical landscape design's beauty from a new perspective. And, at the same time, attempts to find out the social culture factors which led to the design. Ultimately, tries to refer to the modern landscape design details through above.Chapter one: Demonstration of the meaning of classical landscape design. Define the concept of"detail of landscape design"and raise the contents, approaches and main ideas.Chapter two: General introduction of details of classical landscape as well as the materials of them. Such as wood, adobe, tile, stone. Classify the classical landscape into details and take the present classicality landscape as an example and choose the most representative ones to research on.Chapter three: The analysis of characteristics of classical landscape details. Mainly from the decoration of it. From the 3 aspects, culture ways of arts, work of arts to analyze and summarize.Chapter four: The restriction, usage and development of classical landscape details. The classical landscape details are of restricted usage of modern landscape design. We should try to find out the approaches and regulation of it and apply it to modern landscape design.
