As the electric network become more complex, how to ensure it run safely, to improve its real-time and spotness, which all became very important in the management of network. Having the characters of extensity, real-time and directness, GIS can get all kinds of information of electric network accurately, fully, in timely. Then, after selecting and analyzing, GIS provide some clues that can help supervisor make decisions. In this thesis, two system's characters are discussed, which are Geographic Information System (GIS) and Power Transmission GIS. Based on the deep analysis and research of the systems mentioned above, and along with the current conditions of the power Transmission management, the system design of the power Transmission GIS for the regional power grid in Handan is worked out. Data acquisition and logging data of Handan transmission power gird has been finished. Finally, the final system and its future style are introduced that was developed based on the system design.
