Along with the development of science and technology, technical equipments become more and more complicated, and the environment they are used is more changeable. Reliability, especially the system reliability is more valued by people as time goes by. Presently, reliability has been used as the key indicator to assess the system together with other technical economic indicators, such as the performance, cost, and time, etc. Obviously, we are encountering an urgent task to analyze and study the system reliability and maintainability, and to improve and amend the system reliabilityIt is a primary part among the reliability engineering to analyze the system reliability and maintainability scientifically. This article has addressed the analysis of reliability and maintainability of the system, provided a complete set of algorithm and indicator system, indicated the direction of improving the reliability and availability of the products and system to the research and development department of enterprises, and devoted to eliminate varieties of defects and incipient faults from the process of system design, production, management, application, and inspection so as to increase the continuous working time of the system. Along with the progress of computer science and technology, the analysis to the reliability and maintainability and the optimization to the system could be conducted by the computer, which is not only faster and more convenient, but also overcomes the difficulties of large workload and long cycle time, and thus ensures the accuracy of calculation.Based on the requirement of engineering, and the theory of system reliability and maintainability, combined with the mature dragging and dropping and simulation technologies of computers, this article addressed the development of"system reliability analysis"software, including four submodels which are rendering block diagram, block attribute setup, analysis and calculation and optimization, and simulation analysis.Rendering reliability block diagram and block attribute setup are the foundations of analysis of system reliability and maintainability. This software can store the reliability block diagram in the form of documents, which will be convenient to future application. Analysis calculation, optimization and simulation model are the core of this software, users can choose direct output, drawing graphic chart, electric documentation and printing to output the results.This article has also provided practical calculation example, and verified the system reliability and maintainability and the developed software by using Blocksim software, which concluded that the software developed in this article has high accuracy.
