Applied Research Of The Visual Elements Of Suzhou Classical Gardens During Cityscape Development In Old City's Property In Suzhou

This thesis makes the inquiry about the problems and their solutions that present in the cityscape development in old city's property in Suzhou. The transformation in old city's property is deepened increasingly, and the scale is on the increase. Planners and designers have been full of interests in exploring the problems, and they must face them at the same time.Suzhou is a city that the characteristics are obvious. More than 2500 years'history leaves us the rich visual arts. "The classical gardens of Suzhou" is the excellent one among them. Through the living example, this thesis has extracted the visual elements of some classical gardens in Suzhou. And then, the author has combined these elements and the cityscape development with the old city's property. The ways of combination include " imitating ", " picking ", " drawing ", " innovation " and so on. The methods of studying these ways are to study available documents, to compare the classical gardens'visual elements with the modern cityscape, to analyze living examples. But, how do traditional visual elements remain to stay? Facing the problems like those, we have not complete methods yet. We need do further research and exploration.When studying the visual elements of " the classical gardens of Suzhou " and " cityscape in old city's property", we analyze the various aspects like social condition, formation background, civilization environment, etc. We hope to make thoroughly inquiries about the basis that these elements took shape.The target of this thesis is to make inquiries about the new methods in the cityscape development in Suzhou's old city's property. I hope the inquiries of this thesis may include not only the city's history but also the modern innovation ideas.
