In the process of Iron ore concentrates selecting and production, its content must in a certain range, or it will not be qualified. So the content measuring is a key step in product process, detect the quality in time, and adjust the operation, it can assure the quality, decrease the loss of product in gangue, and advance the eligibility rate. By far, the online analysis of iron ore concentrate's quality in production is still a problem.The main online measuring technique of iron ore concentrates is Gamma transmission and X-ray techniques. The Gamma transmission need the depth of serum to be constant, but it isn't. So the X-ray technique is widely used.This paper studied the online content measuring system of iron ore concentrates, and designed a online measuring system with X-ray content measuring technology, CAN bus remote communication technology, and programmed a spectrum analysis software object oriented with Qt designer development software. It is composed of EDXRF(Energy Disperse X-ray fluorescence), the measuring and control system with assembly line, CAN bus remote communication system, CAN to USB interface card and a X ray spectrum analysis software on the computer. The measuring and control system with assembly line to sample the iron ore, make a piece of sample and transport it to the EDXRF. The whole process completed about three minutes, meet the need in production, and avoid the affect of granularity to quality of iron ore measuring.In the X-ray spectrum analysis, according to the X-ray's spectrum is composed of each elements' single X-ray spectrum by proportion, and multivariate linear analysis is used to find the proportion coefficient, find each element's analysis spectrum. And start to calculate the peak area later. Through the study of X-ray spectrum analysis, a filter to filter noise, and a filter to filter the background in frequency area and symmetrical zero area methods are used. Because iron has a absorb effect to the X ray of titanium, and water in the iron ore concentrates makes dispersion which makes affect to the count rate, the multivariate linear analysis is used to find the work function, and made good effect in fact, and improved the measuring resolution.The CAN (Control Area Network) bus is used in the remote communication in this design, which has high interference immunity, long transmit distance. According to comprehend and analysis of the protocol of CAN bus, a CAN to USB interface card is designed, and a stand alone CAN controller SJA1000, a high performance MCU Atmega64 and a USB to Parallel chip FT245BM is used. This paper elaborates the design of hardware circuits such as CAN communication module, USB module and so on. In programming of CAN communication, the startup of SJA1000 and the program flow is described in detail. The interface card in company with USB to CAN communication software in the PC constitutes CAN bus communication system. It implements the intercommunication between computers and CAN nodes.The on line analysis spectrum software is developed with Qt Designer in Linux OS. In the program design, multithreading technology is used, the program is divided into data acquisition thread and spectrum display and process thread. The later comprises spectrum display module, parameter setting module, spectrum analysis module and USB to CAN module. Every module is elaborated, and Qt interface design, multithreading programming and Linux serial port communication are elaborated also. The analysis spectrum software makes a friendly interface, operates conveniently and multifunctional. In the USB to CAN software design, according to CAN bus frame format, a CAN bus protocol software is designed, and it can acquire the data from data frame exactly.The design with CAN bus remote communication, Linux Qt programming and spectrum software with automatic analysis, is a supplement to the on line X-ray measuring, and a promotion to the on line analytic system. Experiment indicates that, the average relative quality error of TFe is 1.39%, and TiO2 is 0.09%, the most relative error of TFe is 2.17%, and Ti is 0.09%, meets the need of measuring.
