The water transport has an advantage of saving earth, large shipment, low energy consumption, low cost and little pollution, and is a great passage to connect the east china and the middle with the west. Constructing Yangtze River key footpath is an act of carrying out science development view and building a conservation-minded and environment-friendly society. As an advanced specialized transportation mode, the containerized traffic in Yangtze River has developed for nearly 20years, and become a bright point in Yangtze River navigation. It plays significant role in ensuring both international and domestic transportation demand and promoting economy development of zone along Yangtze River.With the Opening the great west policy, the Economic Belt in the Upper Reaches of the Yangtze River developed strongly, and international trade increased. Especially after china entered WTO, the container volume of this zone will dramatically increase. The YangShan port opened in dec.2005, which greatly enhance Yangtze River's role as a key footpath. Strategy of rising in central China gives valuable opportunities to six provinces in middle china.All these changes challenged a lot to the container transportation of Hanshen section, to promote the development of zones along Yangtze River, ultimately impulse the east, middle and west china to progress together, it is important to find the most economical transportation method.Decision on Transportation is an important and complicated systems engineering, and is associated with many department's operation. In this paper, the navigation environment and the Yangtze river Economic Belt was analyzed, and use the Four-step Process to forecast the container volume, in the forecasting, use OD transport volume as basic data, which could inflect the direction of the. And established container transportation net, in which take container and its cargo as a unit. Then chose typical sea route: Wuhan-Nanjing-Yangshan, Wuhan -Waigaoqiao-Wangshan, and Wuhan-Yangshan river-to-sea transportation, then compare them to get the best choice. Finaly tabled some proposals according to current situation, such as to construct electronic port and promote the regional cooperation, and to design available water craft, which could be the reference for relative department to realize the advantage of container system of Hanshen section in Yangtze River.
