| GIS is a new direction for computer research and application. It is a combination of computer graphics, digital image processing and database management. It is a computer software application management system to capture, store, retrieve, analyze and display spatial positioning data. It can combine geospatial data with attribute data effectively, providing people with a visual means of inquiries.The monitoring system, which is a dispensable important part of power supply system automation, mainly to display each sub-station and main circuits electrical monitoring parameters and equipments states. Combined with GIS, display electrical monitoring parameters and equipments states directly in the geographical information platform, and record real-time and analyze, so as to enhance the movement and management of the power supply system effectively, and may find more ways of intelligent management and aid decision making technology on this foundation.This article discussed the characteristics and developing methods of GIS technology, analyzed the GIS database structure, the model establishment and joint method of spatial and the attribute data, proposed one way to develop GIS application system with ComGIS and visualization development language, and carried on a detailed analysis to the commonly used ComGIS software MapX. Based on the characteristics of the power supply system, this article studied methods to classify GIS spatial data and set up attributes database, proposed ways to combine GIS and power supply system, and advanced detailed thoughts on modeling and graph transformation. And it discussed the constitutes, major equipments and technical parameters of a certain power supply monitoring system, brought forward a hierarchical, distributed system architecture, and designed block diagrams of the main station and sub-stations, and advanced main parameters of the system. Then it developed a GIS-based power supply monitoring system. Which realized functions like graph processing, inquiry of information, attribute queries, database management, system management, and developed a short-circuit current computing function, and realized displaying monitoring parameters in GIS system real-time by linking to database, which improved reliability of the operation and management of the power supply system. |
