A Study On The Adaptability Of Small-sized Housing In The Background Of Chinese Housing Policy

Our society is turning multi-directing and high-speeding when it comes into 21 century. Cities are increasing there population and urbanization process, at the mean while family members are decreasing .In the process of construction, parts of the urban programming and projects only considered current requirement not including the future development. On the other hand urbanization brings great change of social and economic development. It becomes more and more difficult to make precise decision facing variational family structure.In the year of 2006, the government put forward the policy to promote the small-sized dwelling. The adaptability of small-sized dwelling has been becoming more and more important. But the domestic study on this area only focused on the flexible compartmentation by ignoring the adaptability of living space.By the study of the relationship of space and function and contemporary researches on adaptability reviewed, author defines two meanings for the Versatile space: different functions can be contained in the same time; different functions can be contained in the different time;The intention of this paper is to give suggestion for the small-sized dwelling design by defining design strategies.
