At this stage of Chinese rapid economic development, urbanization and industrialization process ,and changes in urban industrial structure and social lifestyle, "retreat into the third industrial sites " and "land exchange" phenomenon, or traditional industries move away from city, makes industrial heritage protection and re-use more and more issues of common concern. Industrial land in the areas around the Grand Canal of Gongshu district section, with the degradation of canal transport function , the adjustment of economic development and industrial structure, urbanization and market economy, many old enterprises "off, stop, together and change" , the regional industrial structure larger change . At the same time as the construction of City Quality on Life in Hangzhou, building a harmonious living environment and promotation urban regeneration, the protection and re-use of industrial heritage on the brink of destruction and demise is urgent and important.Through the study of theory and cases on industrial heritage , evaluate and classificate industrial heritage in the areas around the Grand Canal of Gongshu district section with architectural history, architecture attributes, architectural forms, geographic conditions, traffic conditions and the external environment, and recognize the spatial distribution patterns.And the different attitudes on the industrial heritage with various subjects of interest, with the background of the Grand Canal of Gongshu district section and urban development, propose the protection and re-use patterns, and respective strategies and recommendations on industrial heritage in typical plots.
