The Research Of Community Self Governance On Inner City Renewal

With many interest groups growing up, the inner city renewal in the cities is experiencing great challenges. In one hand, renewal plans lead by government play significant role as public policies; on the other hand, gamming between government, market force and public is becoming more and more evident, which drops deep effect on the execution of urban plan. All the above have put forward new issues of rationality of traditional urban plan mechanism.The central issues of this thesis is: in the Market Economy System, when facing some limitations and vices appearing in traditional mechanism dominated by the government himself, can we find some ways to remedy them so to improve the efficient of traditional mechanism?Introduction: Being the introduction of whole thesis, it introduces the research background and significance of this subject. Then it summarizes related concepts and innovation points.The 1st chapter: It focuses on the plight of public intervention in inner city renewal, pointing out that different measures cannot realize the planning goals well, and on the contrary they result in negative sequels as inefficient planning intervention and social unjustness. What is more, under present mechanism, macro-scope renewal which has been proved harmful is still being carried on.The 2nd chapter: It talks about the concepts of single-center theory。Then it analyzes why single-interest balanced mechanism meets challenges. The 3rd chapter: It talks about the concepts of multi-center theory. Then it points out the theory of Community Self Governance.The 4th chapter: Basing on the cases of USA, it analyzes the practicing experiences of Community Self Governance.The 5th chapter: By refering to realities in main land of China, it analyzes the gap existing in our nation's community plan. Finally it points the possible mechanism developing direction.Conclusion: It points out the current developing direction in mainland of China.
