This article introduces humanism into Chinese university outdoor space design, proposing design for "human", namely, university outdoor space should conform to undergraduate behavior psychology; It advocates educating people with humanistic environment, that is, to inspire positive and diversity of outdoor activities through outdoor space design, to enable university students to receive comprehensive education in outdoor activities. It also introduces "redesign", a dynamic design idea, which redresses the current Chinese university's built environment that places undue emphasis on material but lack of humanity.Under the initiative of humanism design view, this article applies environmental psychology and environment behavior to university outdoor space redesign, and explores the method of present situation analysis and redesign guide that directed towards undergraduate and university outdoor space; Firstly, based on the behavior subject of university outdoor space, (undergraduate environmental behavior and psychological characteristics, namely, the undergraduate life with regularity, and activities with paroxysms), it brings forward the analytical method and redesign guide as behavior chain, behavior setting, behavior flow, and behavior trace. Combined the undergraduate environmental psychology (environmental perception and demand level) with examples of university outdoor space, it analyzes and concludes the redesign guide. Secondly, this article proposes the analytical method of the outdoor space capacity, attraction, and image on the basis of university outdoor space occupation mode. It also puts forward all factors that affect capacity, attraction and image based on practical investigation and analysis of attribution of success and failure in similar universities' outdoor space. From the analysis of all similar successful cases, it concludes the specific design mode of outdoor space capacity, attraction, and image to guide university outdoor space redesign.
