The Transport Influence Analysis Of Bus Lanes

Nowadays, Bus priority in transportation is globally approved common sense. In China, by balancing specific condition of economy and transport, common public transport becomes a prime option to solve traffic problem. As the most prevalent and available bus priority technology, bus lanes is applied more and more frequently.The application of bus lanes will consequentially impact the urban transport in certain degree. Some of impacts are advantageous, while some are disadvantageous. Based on the investigation of former scholars , this paper analyzed the composition of transport priority techniques, studied its influence to the time,the road capacity and the sustainable development of urban transport which are induced by bus lanes, bus stops, bus signal priority and especially the network of bus lanes on emphasis.About the road ,by analyzing the indexes that influence the choice of bus lane position, this paper studied the performance and suitability of two kinds of bus lanes; analyzed and compared the time that passengers spend on the section of the highway before and after the bus lane was set. By analyzing the affection of bus stop to the road capacity, the paper also studied changes of the road capacity after the setting of bus lanes.About the intersection, The bus priority system discussed in this thesis is divided into 3 parts, i.e., the complete bus priority inlet , indented bus priority inlet and bus signal priority. Firstly, this thesis studied the complete bus priority inlet characteristic and improved on some disadvantages. Secondly, indented bus priority approach was analyzed. Based on the study of its operational principle, the author discussed the design of signal and their relevant parameters, and developed evaluation method for the indented bus priority. Finally, the thesis discussed the influence of general measure bus signal priority.About the system, the thesis focused on the influence to continuous development of urban transport which is composed of passenger transport,environment and energy sources.
