The development of tunnel constructions are quite speedy in recent years, especially in railway tunnels, which is followed by frequent and catastrophic accidents. One characteristic of railway tunnels, which is leading, is tremendous investment whether for the country or the investors, such as the investment of Kiaochow Bay Tunnel is 31.86 hundred million, the investment of Shiziyang Tunnel is 11.88 hundred million ,and so on. Tunnel constructions are more hidden,more complex and more uncertain than other engineerings, so lots of difficulties and obstacles will be met in designs construction and decision-making, and if make decision inconsiderately, unnecessary loss and bad influence for country and society will be brought, like the gas explosion in Dongjiashan Tunnel, the gushing water in Malujing Tunnel and Yesanguan Tunnel and so on. All these accidents have knocked the alarm bell for us, and the risk of the underground engineering, especially of the railway tunnel is attched more and more importance, and take the theories of risk analysis,evaluation and management into tunnel constructions has had no time to delay. But the present research is mainly about single probability analysis which named reliability analysis. The research of quantity or association quantity with qualitaty and real association with "technology,ecnnomy and environment" is few, and need to research deeply.On this background, the thesis did some of the research, the mainly contents are as follow:1)Upbuild the risk index system of railway tunels by investigation and summing-up of tunnels accidents and their causations and by analysis of the existing theories and researches. The system almost lists all technical factors that affect safty, which simplifies the risk identify by leaving out many repeating basic work, and which builds the basic hierarchy of risk evaluation.2)Research the application of Entropy Theory to risk evaluation of rialway tunnels, before which make people know the Entropy Theory more deeply by dissertating and summing-up the theory. Introducing entropy function to risk evaluation of rialway tunnels could solve the balance of different conclusion with different risk decision-making principle and solve the synthetical risk degree of multitargets too.3) Summarize a suite of risk evaluation and mannagement flow for rialway tunnels on the basic of index system hierarchy, which points the direction of further research and practice. And put forward a suite of risk classification criterion for railway tunnels too.
