| How to design a high-accuracy multi-function 3-phase power meter is a new subject in the relative fields in our country. This type of the instruments can be used for measuring electrical energy high accurately and monitoring electrical valume in industrial automatic controling system, such as current, voltage, frequency, active power, reactive power, etc. Nowadays, most power meters used in factories are imported from oversea, the cost performance of which is low, and some specifications can't meet the practical needs. Corresponding to this situation, it is very necessary and meaningful to design a new type of high-accuracy multi-function 3-phase power meter which can reduce the production costs and improve the measurement accuracy.In the paper, a high-accuracy multi-function 3-phase power meter based on high-precision power chip ADE7758 and high-performance AVR MCU ATMEGA128 are studied. The following are the main points:(1) The development history and future of power meter is elaborated. And the significance of the research is discussed.(2) Energy measurement principles of the high-accuracy multi-function 3-phase power meter are analyzed.(3) The overall design scheme of electronic hardware circuit is studied. The metering part and the controlling part are designed, which is needed to enable the functions of the power meter. In this architecture, relative chips are implemented to active the functions of every part. Due to this method, the power meter achieves the advantages of powerfulness, simple structure and high reliability.(4) The overall program of the software and the process of each part is put forward.(5) The method of adjusting the registers in power chip ADE7758 is analyzed, which is used to realizing accuracy contol.This kind of power meter will achieve high accuracy after calibration, which can exactly measure the technical parameters needed in monitoring electromotor.
