At present, how can provide for the elderly in the cities of China has been called more and more social attention. Penman investigated some establishments provided for the aged and several residential quarters in Tianjin. Combining with the elderlypopulation trend in Tianjin, penman advanced a tentative plan------the mixing designof the aged establishments and residential quarters. It is considered that this establishment of new mixed community is a new project which can resolve the inhabitancy problems of the elderly in our country's cities at present. In this article, it analyses the influence which the traditional model provided for the aged makes for inhabitants; the change of conception how can provide for the elderly at the present time; the advantages and disadvantages of existing social establishments provided for the aged; domestic and foreign advanced ideas analysis; the concept, enforceability and significance of new mixed community; and the problems which we should pay attention in the course of implementing the new project and the solutions, and so on. The author is anticipating this article will provide some beneficial basic data for seeking the feasibility of senior citizens' inhabitancy problems in the future.The paper concludes seven chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the research background, purpose, meaning and methods to study; Chapter 2 elaborates the domestic and foreign correlation research about senior citizens' inhabitancy problems; Chapter 3 specifically analyzes the present housing situation to care for the senior citizens in our country; Chapter 4 proposes the concept of new mixed community and elaborates its significance; Chapter 5 analyzes government's policy support and developers' function in the process of the new mix community's foundation; Chapter 6 analyzes several architects' plan methods and design key points in the new mixed community's foundation; Chapter 7 forecasts the development road of the inhabitancy pattern of the elderly in our country's city from author's angle.
