The PID controller is the abbreviation of the proportion,the integral,the differential controller.It is the most common process controller in the commercial control. PID controller has simple algorithm and good effect,thus it is widely applied in commercial control systems on the chemical industry,metallurgy,machinery and so on.At present,the PID algorithm is generally realized on the processors of serial structure. However,the PID algorithm has parallelism,the serial structure processors have limited its speed,and it is not suitable to the timely systems.The hardware electric circuit realized on FPGA through the hardware description language has the formidable concurrent operation ability,can solve this problem,thus realizes the PID control of high speed. Moreover,the PID controller realized in the FPGA chip has the remarkable merit of convenient promotion,the internal circuit of programmable logical component may promote conveniently according to the actual need,thus obviously enhances the flexibility of the system. The PID controller Based on SOPC,has used the design method of hardware primarily,the software for the auxiliary,realized the AD transformation controlling module,the frequency divider module and the PID algorithm module,through the hardware description language,thus has guaranteed the fast response of PID operation. Moreover , this system has inserted Altera Corporation's Niosâ…¡soft nucleus processor,and has also designed the peripherals based on the Avalon main line to complete the LCD demonstrating,the serial correspondence,and the outside expands memories read-write functions and so on .Thus,the PID controlling module and the embedded soft nuclear processor are integrated together in the FPGA chip,the FPGA system's superiority is fully manifested,enables this controller to have characteristics of the quick responsing speed,high agility.At first,this article introduced the development of the SOPC technology and the digital incremental PID algorithm,then introduced overall design project of the system,then narrated logical design based on the VHDL hardware describe language and the embedded system design based on the SOPC in detail,finally carried on the summary to this design.
