Water is the source of life. Water resources play a fundamental role in natural resources and have been an important part in human living environment. At the same time, water resources become the strategic economic resources and an organic part in a country's comprehensive capabilities. Under such circumstances, the study of strategies in water resources to satisfy the needs of present population without jeopardizing the needs of future generations is of great significance.With the continual advance of the standard of living, people began to ask for higher living environment, the improving environment of urban landscape become more and more important, the increasing area of the green surface, more and more kinds of waterscape, but all of these based on high consumption of water resources, those phenomena will be more explicit in the northern cities of China with serious shortage of water resources. Therefore, how to get done with the urban landscape with the shortage of water resources, it is a great challenge for all landscape designer.On the based, with a lot of investigations in this paper, detailed theoretical studies and case analysis, we try to find a best method of water-saving landscape design, in order to save water resources in landscape construction and promote sustainable development in urban landscape. By means of:Chapter I, background and method of the topic.Chapter II, the situations and main problems of water-saving landscape design at home and abroad.Chapter III summarizes how to carry out the water-saving landscape design in detail with seven aspects of water-saving landscape design.Chapter IV elaborates how to use rainwater to achieve water-saving landscape design.Chapter V, wetland, a unique glamour of the water-saving landscape design.
