Product Data Management (PDM) is a technology based on information technology, focusing on product and integrating and managing all of the information and processes related to product. PDM technology is an absolutely necessary tool for enterprise informatization.The thesis based on the research of requirement of a shrapnel manufacturing enterprise, in response to characteristics of management mode of the Design Department of the enterprise, put forward the functional requirement of the Design Department, and introduced the integrated solutions between SmarTeam and each design subsystem, as well as the implementation method and the key technologys in detail, at the same time provided a solutions of the xBOM was generated automatically.The current situation what facing the coopetative work is not yet reached between SmarTeam and three subsystems which are scheme design, parametric modeling, calculation and simulation during design process, using a large number of COM API which is provided by the SmarTeam secondary development kit, fuction expansion of each design subsystem can be easily realized, SmarTeam will be able to carry out unified administration on data and document of every subsystem, and implement share and exchage of data to keep data safe and reliable.Through the study of the BOM data in the different production process, such as EBOM, PBOM and MBOM, on the basis of the data structure's analysis of EBOM, PBOM and MBOM, making use of SmartBasic Script Editor which is a SmarTeam script programming tool to carry out a programming in order to extract and summary data of EBOM, PBOM and MBOM, realized generating xBOM automatically at the end.
